My sophomore year of college, I took an Intro to Advertising class just knowing this is what I wanted to do, well sorta, maybe, perhaps I’m better for PR…or something entirely different. Our professor truly was an advertising guru and was determined to pack as much information as possible into every hour he had us there. Two of my girlfriends were in that class with me and every Tuesday and Thursday, we would stumble out of the lecture hall feeling as though we had just spent the past hour spinning on our heads. I was completely insane, and yet there was something I really loved about it.
As I grow in my professional career, I find there are times when that spinning feeling rushes over me and I feel as though I’m back Dr. Avery’s class. We are currently gearing up for our first big fundraiser of the year, my first to lead with this organization, and my adrenaline is really starting to pump. I love the time leading up to an event. There are so many things to get done, details to tend to, people to direct, and I honestly wouldn’t trade a moment of it. The rush that builds in the month and days leading up to the big event all leads to a short few hours when all the hard work and long hours come together.
I am an adrenaline junkie.
Are you? What gives you that rush?
