All Hail the Conquering Hero(s)

Normally, I look forward to the Tony awards more than any other awards show–an evening filled with theater and great performances, what’s not to love?! But this year’s Tony Awards would have to wait patiently on my DVR, because Sunday night was game six of the NBA Finals and our Dallas Mavericks had a chance to close out the Heat.

I think we were all thinking the same thing--is this really about to happen?!

It had been one grueling, gut-wrenching, nerve-wracking series, but it seemed like the Mavs just could not lose. And when it mattered most, they played like the champions we hoped they were. With the hometown (by way of Germany) hero Dirk Nowitzki leading the way, a band of impressive talents like Jason Terry, Jason Kidd, JJ Barea, Shawn Marion and Tyson Chandler close behind, and an entire city cheering them on, they proved that teams will always win out over individuals.

I couldn’t be happier to say, Dallas is a championship city once again! Congratulations to the Dallas Mavericks for bringing home the hardware and earning the title of NBA Champions!

…tonight, I’ll get caught up on the Tonys.

Did you watch any of the series?

Yes ma’am! I watched the Tony’s last night, and I give them mixed reviews. You know I’m a musicals girl and don’t really get too excited about the newest plays. I need singin’ and dancin’ to warm my soul! Anyhow, it appeared that it was infact a great year for plays, and the musical numbers were not as exciting in years past. However, I did watch every moment until the credits rolled and decided my 30th trip is to NYC, without a doubt! That 18 months or so may be the most expensive 18 months of our lives! We better get ready! :)
