Luck of the Irish

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

We are off to Chicago today to enjoy the city for a few days before I hunker down to attend the AFP International Conference on Sunday. And what luck we have that today is St. Patty’s Day! If there’s one thing Chicago knows how to do, it’s St. Patty’s Day. Did you know they dye the river green?! It’ll be dark by the time we get in, but I can only hope we can snap a few pictures on Friday.

The holiday was originally a religious observance, meant to remember St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland, and is intended to be a time of spiritual renewal and prayer. While St. Patrick’s Day has undoubtedly become a widely secular holiday, a prayer or two certainly can’t hurt before you head out for a day/evening of debauchery, right?
