Well, try as I might, I’m off to a rough start with my plans to research and document this year’s Austin City Limits artists…and today’s post isn’t helping that cause much either. However, when Karen Elson rolled across my iPod, I just had to feature her here.
I’m not exactly sure how to describe her sound–it’s a little country, it’s a little rock, it’s a little elusive, it’s pretty but not too pretty, it’s got a bit of darkness to it, but not so much that you feel like you’re in a black hole listening to it. Her new album The Ghost Who Walks seems to sum up her sound best I suppose.
While you might not recognize her music right off the bat, I’m sure you’ll quickly recognize her face. The red-headed Brit first made a name for herself modeling–and it’s easy to see why. She is no doubt a stunner. Now she’s taking a stab at making a name for herself in the music arena and I think she’ll fare just as well here. Here’s the title track off her new album…enjoy!
